- Level Growth has partnered with NGOs such as the Rainforest Alliance and Wildlife Conservation Society to insure that these NGOs provide other direct benefits to our client’s plantations, such as improved relationships and brokering conflict resolution with workers and communities, improved sustainability and government relations.
- An example of success is the beginning of a breeding area for the Maleo, highly endangered species of flightless bird that lives in the mountains and must walk to the shore to lay eggs in volcanically warmed soil. The bird is threatened by capture for food and by locals and predators who eat the eggs. A plan was devised to compensate the villagers greater to protect the birds than to capture and use them for food. They received education regarding the importance of preserving this species found only on the island of Sulawesi.
