Bob Mullen is a managing member and co-founder of Level Growth, LLC. He is also Professor and Former Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Carolina. Prior to joining the faculty at South Carolina in 2010, he was the Frank Neff Professor and Chair of the Civil Engineering Department at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Mullen received his PhD from Northwestern University, and his undergraduate degrees from the University of Illinois. He is the Co-Director of the Centre for Reliable Engineering Computing, Georgia Institute of Technology. He is also the president and co-founder of Engineering Research Associates, a company that develops technology for sustainable agriculture. Dr. Mullen has been principle investigator or Co-Principle investigator on projects funded by the Defense Advanced Projects Agency (DARPA), the US Air force, Navy, the National Science Foundation, the National Cancer Institute, the US Department of Transportation, and NASA. He has served as a consultant to major international corporations including BP, General Electric, Parker Hannifin, Dow and hundreds of smaller industrial firms improving product reliability, safety and performance. Mullen is a registered engineering in Ohio, South Carolina and Alabama. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society of Automotive Engineers, American Railroad Engineering and Maintenance-of-way Association and the American Society for Engineering Education.
